Weekly Announcements
On Sunday, October 25 from 5-7pm, children, youth and their families are invited to the parking lot of the Crawford Center for some spooky Halloween fun! Trick or Treating at the decorated trunks, a free hot dog dinner, and a haunted trail run by our Youth Group will be available. Bring your friends...if you dare!
We need volunteers to provide decorated trunks and/or candy for the goblins at our annual Trunk or Treat night Sunday, October 25 from 5-7pm. Costumes are not required, but are encouraged. A prize will be given to the best decorated trunk. Please let Elizabeth know if you will be sponsoring a trunk. 
On October 17 from 4-7pm our Cub Scouts are sponsoring a Spaghetti Dinner at the scout lodge (3164 Carthage Rd. West End, NC) For just $15 per plate you can dine in or carry out a plate of spaghetti, garlic bread and dessert. For more info or to purchase tickets contact Brad.
Our pack is growing and in need of camping equipment. If you can donate or see any of the following items at yard sales or thrift stores, grab them, get a receipt if possible, and the scouts will reimburse you! Needed items include: 3 Coleman stoves, 3 coolers, 1 black chuck box, 3 kitchen sherpas, 3 pot sets, 1 camping griddle, 2 10x10 popup canopies, 6 silicone oven mitts, 1 toolbox and supplies for a first aid kit, 3 fire extinguishers.

Tuesday Tutors Needed
Our Tuesday Tutoring program has resumed and more tutors are needed! Tutors help elementary students with homework, reading and math skills. The time commitment is Tuesdays 2:30-4:00pm. Substitutes are available on days tutors re unable to attend. Please check your heart and your calendar to see if you can become a mentor to a very deserving child. Contact Jackie or Anna for more info. 
Youth Group is for all middle and high schoolers and meets weekly Sunday evenings from 6-8pm in the Hogan House. |
A New Musical Thing
This fall we will be doing a new "musical thing". We are changing our handbell and choir rehearsals from Wednesday night to Thursday night. Handbells will rehearse at 5pm followed by choir rehearsal at 6:30pm. We are excited and hopeful that this change will open the opportunity for new members to join us. 
Nursery Volunteers NeededWe are in search of 12 adult volunteers to assist on a rotating basis in the nursery during Sunday worship. If you would be willing to serve please contact Elizabeth. Attention All Cooks!
We could always use meals/snacks for our youth programs. Willing cooks should contact Elizabeth. 
Change for HaitiCheck your pockets, purses, and even sofas for extra change that you may have. Place it in the marked jar in the Narthex. We will make sure your offering goes to Pastor Sidor of Haiti Help and Hope. He oversees five churches and a school. His mission is to feed and educate the children, and teach them about God's love. Haiti is ranked #1 of the ten poorest countries in the world. 
The Sandhills/Moore Coalition's mission is to "alleviate hunger and financial strains of struggling households in Moore County." WEPC supports the Coalition by providing 1lb bags of rice. Drop your donations in the basket in the church narthex. |
